Why does my Minn Kota trolling motor blade spin backwards?
I ordered a new control board for my 55lb. 12-volt motor last year. I had taken the entire motor apart trying to fix it before I ordered the board. I installed it according to the instructions (I think), and put the lower unit back together. It works fine, all speeds and reverse. The problem is, the everything is reversed. I have to use the foot pedal to spin the motor all the way around so that the blades are leading the lower unit in the water (if that makes since) in order to go forward. With the lower unit pointed correctly, I go backwards. Is this a control board issue or a lower unit issue?
firefighter – it is a bow mount and has worked fine for 6-7 years. It always spun correctly before I took it apart.

Some where the polarity has to be reversed, an easy fix may be to see if you can get a different prop that spins the other way.
