can i use a saltwater trolling motor in freshwater lakes?
i have always been a motor guide user but went to purchase a new trolling motor and found one that i liked. the only thing is that its a saltwater trolling motor. all my fishing is fresh water lake for bass. i really liked the set up on the water snake trolling motor, just want to make sure that it wont bother it or void the warranty thank you

A saltwater trolling motor in freshwater would actually be considered “heavy duty”. So yeah, you won’t have any problems.

Nope, the problems arise when you go the other way (freshwater trolling motor in salt)
It’ll just be a good rinse-out for your saltwater motor to be run in fresh for a while.

Im looking to get an inflatable boat to just putz around some rivers in jersey and do a little crabbing and im on a strict budget and need to know about the motor

You can use a fresh water one but it is not sealed against the salt. The salt water ones are more expensive. Try e bay maybe you can get a used one there.
